Jeff led the design of the Emerald Park ODP, a structure plan over 60ha of land adjacent to the Kwinana Freeway in Wellard. The project achieves a range of lot sizes, most of which have good solar orientation given the north-south orientation of the local streets. The site design manages to retain a number of specimen trees within public open space and accommodates significant drainage flows through the site in swales and POS basins. At the south of the site, a primary school, daycare facility and community building are proposed, forming the social focal point for the new community. The project is made up of three neighbourhoods, each with a public open space at its centre. These parks are then connected to the main entrances from Johnson Road, emphasising the natural features of the site. At full build out, the project will accommodate 845 dwellings. It is now approximately half built out. Jeff undertook this work while at Cardno.
