Jeff acted as Project Director in the peer review and subsequent redesign of the master plan for a 30ha site due west of the Cockburn Central Town Centre. Part of the designated Regional Centre, this development was to extend the density and transit-oriented principles of the Town Centre while accommodating a major new recreational sporting facility and AFL sized oval, plus additional sports fields and significant drainage basins. The scope of work included designing a robust network of streets and open spaces that could accommodate a range of market-responsive densities and uses. The team provided detailed urban design inputs down to building typology detail for each development parcel under several scenarios. We also provided high-level market analysis and input on the various design approaches. This information then fed into the business case testing / feasibility process that allowed Landcorp to justify the project on a commercial basis. The resulting concept design formed the basis for the Structure Plan now in place. Jeff undertook this work while at Urbis.
