Jeff acted as the project manager / lead designer for Battleground Village, a new 80-acre mixed-use town centre on the east edge of Battleground, Washington. The plan proposes to create a new retail district of boutique shops to cater to the growing population of sophisticated landowners in the area who have recently moved from bigger cities. The plan features 41 live/work townhomes, a range of boutique shops, over 100,000 square feet of office space, a new regional library, a performing arts center, and a large retail anchor tenant. The public spaces include a large cobblestone plaza with a landscaped park in the center that can be used for public events such as farmers markets or holiday bazaars. A covered pedestrian plaza directly adjacent provides space for year round Saturday markets, and connects with a longer pedestrian mall. Knitting the entire site together is a boardwalk that runs along the western park and stormwater retention basin to the industrial and residential areas to the south. The village has now been approximately 50% built out along the lines set out in the master plan. Jeff undertook this work while at Myhre Group Architects.
