This project comprises a three-lot strata development in central Nollamara, within easy walking distance of a neighbourhood park and retail precinct. A key challenge of the project included configuring the dwellings to achieve good solar orientation for courtyards and main living areas within very constrained lots. An additional challenge included achieving reasonable affordability while maintaining high quality finishes. This issue is partially addressed by carefully directing available funds toward the finish materials that would have the greatest impact on the resident’s experience of the dwelling. Additional savings is achieved by building within the roof space (compared to full double storey walls) and avoiding wet areas upstairs. The fresh approach to the interiors of the project gives the townhouses a spacious, contemporary feel.
